Oak Alley Mansion Misty BW
This is another capture of the mansion and oak trees right before the sun was fully up and before the mist lifted on this morning at the Oak Alley Plantation done in black and white. This plantation is a popular spot for tourist looking for history and a feel for life long ago. The Oak Alley plantation was created in the early 1800's as a surgar cane plantation and was worked by slaves. The plantation got it name from the many live oak trees that are over 300 years old prior to it existance. Some refer to this area as Oak valley or Seven Oaks. Many movies has been made here especially if you are doing something releated to the deep south era or the confederate times along with many spooky movies. The plantation is closest to the community of Vacherie, St James Parish Louisiana. The plantation itself sits along the banks of the Missisippi river west bank. Before the plantation was built these 300 year old trees had been planted here by someone but it is not known who. Who ever put the trees down seem to know right where you would put the house as it lined up beautifuly with the house. The Oak Alley Plantation is a National Historic Landmark as it is rich in history and is visited by many toursit. . Photo © copyright by Bee Creek Photo.
