Dallas Psychedelic Traveling Man – A whismical creation of the 38 foot tall stainless steel robot sculpture in digital psychedelic colors that is shown walking through the Dallas area in an area known as the Deep Ellum. The deep ellum is the area where the rail road had once thrived now it part of the transit rail line. The sculpture was created with element of that area such as the rivet that would of been used on the rail road tracks, the bird because the area had been know for song bird, the guitar shaped head to represent the music in the area and the long legs as his desire to travel and a piece of each is including in all the traveling man series. Each segment comes from the past stories about the area that the artist incorporated into the sculpture. All of these element are meant to tie the history of the area together with a whimsical theme. Here he towers above the city transit train station at 38 feet as he walks along with his little bird on his arm with Dallas skyline in the background in the Deep Ellum area. The Deep Ellum area is a popular area with restaurants, bars, music, along with art galleries and other shops in the area. This is the only one images of traveling man series in Dallas. There are two more traveling man series to be seen in the same area, the banjo playing traveling man and the birth of the traveling man.
Sunrise Under the Pier – We had started working our way down the Texas Coast beach in Port Aransas early morning before sunrise and just as the sun was slightly above the horizon we shot this one and loved the look of the underside of the Caldwell Pier. Today the sunrise under the pier was just peeking above the horizon reflecting off the clouds and surf below as it gently rolled in carry some sea weed with the morning light for a nice coastal scene. The sun light was also reflecting off the water and wet sand which reflected the sunrise colors back under the pier to make for a pretty texas coastal landscape scene. The texas coast is located in the gulf of mexico and Port A has about 18 miles of beach with plenty to do from sport fishing, parasailing, swimming, surfing, birding, and many other event on the island to keep you from getting board. Just to get to the island can require a ferry ride to get to the island or you can come around the long way as we call it through Corpus Christi maybe a thirty drive down the shoreline of mustang island.

Bluebonnet Sunset Through the Fence – A cedar wood fence with bluebonnets, and an oak tree at sunset make a nice texas Hill country landscape. The bluebonnet were growing in front of this wonderful old oak tree as the sunsets cast its ray through the cedar fence giving a hint of light over the wildflowers. This is what it looks like in the Texas hill country in springtime or we call it bluebonnet season. Spring is here and the bluebonnet is the first sign that it is here. We have traveled thousand of mile over the backroads of the hill country always searching for good locations and today we found another good spot for the perfect texas bluebonnet landscape. In Texas the lupine or bluebonnet along with other wildflowers start coming out in the southern part of the state around Feb and slowly move north through May. Then we have the summer Texas wildflowers that start popping up but most consider the bluebonnet as the main attraction if we can find other wildflowers that even better, but we gotta see the blue bonnets or we feel empty without it. In any case this was a great catch for a traditional texas bluebonnet landscape, its been a pretty good year so far but it fading fast in the hill country all good things must come to and end. Well at least till next year!
Texas Longhorn in the Wildflowers – We have come back to this location many times trying to get the longhorns in the wildflowers. They seem to like to take a siesta in the middle of the day so today we were able to capture this one just as he laid down in the wildflowers. You can see a few bluebonnets still hanging on but with all the new yellow wildflowers like I believe these may be black eye susans along with some Indian blankets and may other wildflowers. Of course the one laying in the flowers had to be the far away but no fear we put on the big lens to capture him. Wildflowers and longhorns what could be better than that.
