Scenic Fall Frio River

Scenic Fall Frio River – We captured this scenic fall frio river on one of our many trips this year into the hill country to capture the autumn season in Garner State Park and nearby areas. The image of the bald cypress which were turning different shades of orange, to rusty red color for the fall season and gave some nice reflections in the water we thought gave the feeling of serenity. I think this is one of my many favorites fall landscape from here from this location in the texas hill country, This fall landscape image of these wonderful cypress tree was the winning part of this image. In the Texas hill country. we don’t have a big fall season, but this year turn out very nice for the Texas Hill country. It is alway dependent on weather condition not being too hot or dry then we can get see some nice autumn colors in the area. In Texas we go from drought to floods not to mention the temperature can affect the color changes. So if our summers not too bad and we get a little more rain then we can see some fall colors changes on some years. If not then the leave will fall off before they change colors. Always a delicate dance with mother nature. Luckily for us this year looks like we are getting some nice color. Getting to the park when it open was the best time to capture the best light. The light was soft, and with no wind the water was still and we captured some excellent reflections of the bald cypress up the Frio River in the Garner with nice blue skies and whispy clouds. Cypress trees turn a golden shade and then turn a rusty red right before they go brown and fall off. Garner State Park is a popular park and it visited year round by many people in some cases they close the park before noon for day visiters especially in the summer time because as usual it is loved to death. Still it worth a visit to the Texas Hill country no matter what time of year it is.

Sunrise Driftwood Beach

Sunrise at Driftwood Beach  – This is Driftwood beach at Jekyll Island with dead trees in the sand at sunrise as a 2 to 1 panorama. It was a beautiful morning sunrise with these fablous dead trees that seem to magically grow from the sands along driftwood beach at Jekyll island. This look almost un-worldly in the early morning at the beach. This has been a location we have wanted to go to for some time now. Driftwood beach or boneyard beach as some have coined the phase because of all the trees and limbs that seem to magically grow from the sands along the beach. This view of this tree is silouette at sunrise which looks out over the Altantic Ocean something we never get to see here in Texas. This skeleton tree that is still planted in the sand gave some nice reflections as a silouette along the wet sand at sunrise reflecting back the wonderful colors from the sky. Jekyll Island is part of the Golden Isles of Georgia barrier islands.  This golden isles barrier islands got their name from the gold color that the salt marshes grasses turn in winter that surround this group of island.

The island gets its name from a short-lived Yamassee Indian village known as San Simon, which was established near Fort Frederica during the late 1660s to 1684. The English shorten the name later.

Golden Glow Over Bluebonnets

Golden Glow Over Bluebonnets – This was taken on the colorado river as the sunrise cast this golden glow over bluebonnets with these golden clouds cast their warm colors over this amazing field of wildflowers. Springtime in the Texas hill country is my favorite time because of all the wonderful wildflowers everywhere, especially when you come across a big field of bluebonnets like this it can be a magical landscape. These blueboonets were taken along the Colorado river in the Hill Country at sunrise as the sky and cloud had this golden glow. The Texas bluebonnets are a variety of blue wildflowers that grow in the State of Texas every spring which are of the genus Lupinus. Originally in 1901 the state declare only one blue bonnet the state flower however, in 1971 the Texas legislature declare that any flower found to be similar to Lupinus be declared the state flower. The name bluebonnet was from the look of the top of white part of the flower that was similar to the bonnet that woman wore on their heads in the pioneering days. The popularity of the blue bonnet grew after Lady Bird Johnson had push the Highway Beautification Act where she encorage everyone to plant native wildflowers along highways in the state. Today you can find wildflowers along many roads in Texas and the Texas Hill County has been known as one of the better places to find them. Bluebonnets love soil that drain wells and you will find them easily growing along the slopping areas along the roads. Of course some years are better than others but you don’t have to drive too far into the hill country to find them along the roads. It is almost that time for the bluebonnets to bloom anywhere between the middle of March to the middle of April depending on where and if we got the right amount of rain and sun here in central Texas. We also have other wildflowe that show up near the same time like Indian Paintbrush it changes year to year it is alway fun to see what will show up every spring.

Golden Glow over Blue Bonnets – We capture this sunrise over a field of bluebonnets through the mesquite tree just as the sun came up and it created this nice golden glow. You can see the sunset is just coming up over the horizon through the two mesquite trees in this landscape. This was a nice field of wildflowers in the texas hill country. The Texas bluebonnet or lupine was declare a state flower in 1971 by the Texas legislature. Also Lady Bird Johnson help in her push to create the Highway beautification Act which is how wildflowers in Texas took root. We can thank Lady Bird for these beautiful spring wildflowers that are across our highways and park and where ever they may be.

This is a favorite vacation spot on the texas beach where many come tourist and texans come to enjoy what it has to offer. This laid back community is always fun with it many fishing, swimming, bird watching, opportunities along with many other things to do. Port Aransas is a city on Mustang Island along the Texas coast. Texas Bluebonnet Sunset Panorama

Texas Bluebonnet Sunset Panorama – Texas Bluebonnet Wildflowers Landsape Flower Print
We were lucky to capture this wonderful field of a Texas bluebonnet sunset with a sprinkling of Indian paintbrush wildflowers with these hay bales with this great colorful sky with oranges, and pinks in this rural landscape. We came across them accidentally driving the back roads of Texas and we were allowed to come on to the farm property and photograph them for several days. These were the fullest field of bluebonnets we found this year. A great field of flower so of course we came back for a sunrise photo too. You don’t see bluebonnets fields with hay bales like this in our area so this was a unique find in our quest for all images of Texas wildflowers. When it comes to bluebonnets wildflowers Texans including myself go a little nuts over them, people come from all over to see them, take selfies in them, do family portraits, and for many other reason. In any case it is a very popular spring flower and there are people who follow the yearly wildflower reports like a bible just to find the best of the best every year. Now every years is not a bumper crop so it really depends on the weather, amount of rain we receive in the fall and again in the spring. The bluebonnets Lupines or Lupinus Texensis are the state flower of Texas. However, all lupines or considered the state flower in Texas. There are several other types in Texas such as the Lupinus Havardi or Big Bend Bluebonnet, the Lupinus Argenteus or silvery lupine, and several more but the most popular for most people is the ones in this field the Lupinus Texensis. As long as there are bluebonnets in Texas we will continue our quest to capture the best of the best every year.
