Gruene Hall – Gruene is an area located just within New Braunfels city limits which was created in the 1940a by German immigrant the Ernst Gruene family which is also the towns name. Also the name Gruene is pronounced ‘Green’. The Gruene led the way to build a community for the cotton farmers. This is the oldest dance hall in Texas built somewhere in the late 1878 by the Gruene as he started this community just outside of New Braunsfel Tx. Gruene Hall is still in business today with a saloon and dance hall where western swing is still happening. Many big name country singers have performed here like Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson to name a few. This image capture the water tower which stands behind the dance hall on a nice cloudy day. Gruene is like going back in time so from the dance hall to the general store it will take you back to a simpler time. Gruene is visited by many as it is one of the top destinations for tourist to visit in the Texas hill country year round. It is located in New Braufels which is a maybe 20 minutes from San Antonio.
