Gruene Hall – Gruene is an area located just within New Braunfels city limits which was created in the 1940a by German immigrant the Ernst Gruene family which is also the towns name. Also the name Gruene is pronounced ‘Green’. The Gruene led the way to build a community for the cotton farmers. This is the oldest dance hall in Texas built somewhere in the late 1878 by the Gruene as he started this community just outside of New Braunsfel Tx. Gruene Hall is still in business today with a saloon and dance hall where western swing is still happening. Many big name country singers have performed here like Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson to name a few. This image capture the water tower which stands behind the dance hall on a nice cloudy day. Gruene is like going back in time so from the dance hall to the general store it will take you back to a simpler time. Gruene is visited by many as it is one of the top destinations for tourist to visit in the Texas hill country year round. It is located in New Braufels which is a maybe 20 minutes from San Antonio.

Austin Skyline Along Lady Bird Lake in Fall

Austin Skyline Along Lady Bird Lake in Fall – Fall can be fleeting in Texas, but we do have a short window where the bald cypress and red oaks come togther to create this autumn landscape scenery. The bald cypress turn from an orange to a red to a rusty color along the lake the red oaks are sprinkled through out the area. This is an aerial capture looking toward downtown Austin along Lady Bird Lake or Town Lake as many that have lived here for a while still call it from Zilker park. Austin Texas lady bird lake is actually part of the Highland lakes Colorado river chain which flows from the hill country into lake travis and lake austin into Lady bird lake where it then flow all the way to the coast. Along it way create this recreational spot near Zilker park where people utilize the water with their sups, canoes, or whatever as you an see lot of people on the lake today. Zilker Park is over 350 acres where people come to enjoy all that is offered in the area including picnic tables, soccer, Barton Springs, hike and biking trails which run through the park area and beyond. Actually people were everwhere in the parks today, on the water in their canoes, sups all enjoying the nice day with blue skies and the water was flowing only slightly with allow reflection from of the clouds in the water. You can even see the state capitol dome top in the far left of skyline in the scene for another beautiful day in Austin Texas.

Pensacola Beach Boardwalk has shops, eateries, nearby, and the Pensacola Beach Pier stretches into the Gulf of Mexico. It is a top destination for travel in the southern USA.

Oasis Sunset Lake Travis

Oasis Sunset Pano – One more image of this wonderful Oasis sunset on Lake Travis. Lake Travis is outside of Austin in the Hill Country which is a favorite place for locals and tourist to come and you can’t miss the Oasis restaurant for some good food and drinks as you watch the sunset set.The Oasis Sunset Pano – The Oasis sunset is the best place to capture a sun set which is located in the Texas Hill country outside Austin on Lake Travis. The restaurant is located in far west Austin at the foothills of the Texas Hill Country on Lake Travis. The Oasis restaurant likes to promote itself as the “Sunset Capital of Texas” with it decks facing west for maximum sunset views. The restaurant sit on a bluff about 450 feet over the lake overlooking the big bowl at the lake. Lake Travis is part of the Highland lakes, after Mansfield dam was built in 1942 it became the largest reservoir for water storage creating the largest area of water where the Oasis overlook is. The Oasis restaurant is popular with locals and tourist and it not uncommon to find buses lined up in the parking lot. It has become a destination for people traveling in this area of the Hill Country to visit to capture a peak at the sunset. Most people who live in Austin will tell you place go to see the view as the Oasis sunset is hard to beat in the area, the sunsets view from this location are great anytime of the year. The Oasis restaurant has been here for thirty years, but in 2005 a lightning fire destroyed parts of the structure but it was back in business about two weeks later, over time the portion that had burn down was re-built and expanded for maximun sunset views. This Lake is one of the largest reservoir of water along the Highland lakes. another beautiful sunset in the Texas hillcountry. Love that the sunset was almost here and they still have the umbrellas up they will take them down at sunset.

Heavenly Texas Coastal Sunrise

We captured this Heavenly Texas coastal sunrise as it was coming up from under the Caldwell fishing pier at Port Aransas sea shore as we walked along the beach early morning. You never know what the surf will bring in and today we found some red sea weed on to the beach with the tide from the night before. This heavenly texas coastal sunrise landscape today with the nice waves and wonderful colorful sky is a great way to view the beach. This is a favorite vacation spot on the texas beach where many come tourist and texans come to enjoy what it has to offer. This laid back community is always fun with it many fishing, swimming, bird watching, opportunities along with many other things to do. Port Aransas is a city on Mustang Island along the Texas coast. The Gulf of Mexico has many beaches and fish-filled waterways that tourist have been visiting this area for many years. There are many things to do here like the Turnbull birding center where you can see all kinds of birds along with a alligators or two along the boardwalk. Also the Roberts Point Park offers an observation tower for bay views. You can also catch a boat out to the secluded San José Island while there. The island has a very laid back atmosphere with some great restaurants and music venues.

Another gorgeous capture of the Texas coast at sunrise with the sand and waves creating ripples in the sand and the beautiful waters with their gentle waves and wonderful surf to entice us in as the sun gently rises over the Caldwell fishing pier with these wonderful colors of red, pink, orange and blues make for a beautiful.

Sun Burst at Mission San Jose in San Antonio

Mission San Jose in San Antonio as the sun creates this sun burst twinkle from the steeple at the the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo is a historic Catholic mission which is located in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Mission San Jose in San Antonio is also a member of the World Heritage site since 2015. The mission was founded in 1720 after other missions were filling up and there was a need for more room. San Jose mission was set up for the native American and gave the Coahuiltecan tribe who lived in the compound a sense of security and safety. The outer wall was built around the main part of the mission and the rooms were built into the walls. Mission San Jose in San Antonio is an active church and services are still performed today including weddings and funeral. The park’s Visitor’s Center is also located in Mission San José. This one of the five mission that are part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park and is heavily visited by tourist and locals in San Antonio Texas.

The outer wall were built around the mission with room for the tribes and a new church made of limestone was build later on around 1768.

Many know the history of Battle of the Alamo as William Travis and his men like Daniel Boon and Jim Bowie fought Santa Anna Army. The Alamo was brought back to life when the Daughter of the Republic in 1835 started trying to preserve it and had maintained until 2015 when the Texas Land Office took over the site. Today it is probably one of the most popular tourist spots in the state of Texas.

The summer brings all kinds of water activities like swimming, surfing, sailing, boating, fishing, etc.

Bluebonnet sunrise along the river just as the sun ray pop over the horizon to wish us good morning. The Texas bluebonnet is the most popular wildflower as people come from long way off just to see them. I have met people who traveled from California who came to see the bluebonnets here. Of course not all years are great it has to do with the fall rains not enough and these hardy plants may not show their best, but just wait a year and maybe the next year will do it. In any case the Texas bluebonnet is still the most popular wildflower people have festival for them, name their towns as the bluebonnet capital so who are we to question them. We loved the tranquility of this image with the sunrise over the water and a nice field of bluebonnets with a tents along the river edge. Spring time in the Texas hill country can be magicali f your in the right place and it bluebonnet season. Lady Bird started this with her Highway Beautification Act and we are so happy she did!

New Orleans Skyline at Dusk Pano

We capture this New Orleans skyline in downtown area around dusk as the high rise building light came on and it created this nice reflections in the Mississippi River. There was stil a little color in the sky from the sunset just enough to gve it some pop over the cityscape with some oranges and pinks mingle with the dark clouds. This New Orlean skyline pano was taken from across the Mississippi River at dusk. The view of the city high rise buildings along the shore line makes for a nice image as the building reflect in the water shortly after sunset. New Orleans is the largest city in the state of Louisiana population of around 1.5 million people. The city attract tourist from all over the world with its many popular neighborhoods such as the famous French Quarters, Jackson Square and many more area of interest. Beside Bourbon street and french quarter there are plenty of wonderful restaurants in the area. New Orleans also has a lot of things to do such as World War Museum, Art Museums, Aquarium, or even a visit to the city cementaries, plus you can enjoy a visit to the Superdome home of the New Orleans Saints. There are riverboats rides along the Mississippi River just some of the thing available to do in the city. Not to mention the wonderful architecture you see through out the city.

New Orleans Skyline Pano  –  This is the New Orlean skyline pano which was taken from across the Mississippi River at dusk.  The view of the city high rise buildings along the shore line makes for a nice image as the building reflect in the water shortly after sunset. New Orleans is the largest city in the state of Louisiana population of around 1.5 million people. The city attract tourist from all over the world with its many popular neighborhoods such as the famous French Quarters, Jackson Square and many more area of interest. Beside Bourbon street and french quarter there are plenty of wonderful restaurants in the area. New Orleans also has a lot of things to do such as World War Museum, Art Museums, Aquarium, or even a visit to the city cementaries, plus you can enjoy a visit to the Superdome home of the New Orleans Saints. There are riverboats rides along the Mississippi River just some of the thing available to do in the city.  In any case this is one of the few images of the New Orleans skyline pano we were able to capture in our short visit.
