Austin Skyline Twilight 23
Austin Skyline Twilight 23 - Another capture of the Austin skyline from the hike and bike trail south of Lady Bird Lake at twilight. This was actually taken at the dawn or twilight hour right before sunrise comes up. We are trying to get some skyline of Austin before the next round of high rises start popping up in the skyline. It is a never ending battle to captured the latest skyline since it changes ever couple of years. For now we have the latest high rises with the new Sixth and Guadalupe tower that is the tallest at 875 feet which make its one of the tallest in the south. The other two tallest build that held the title previously are also included, the Independent with a height of 690 and the Austonian at 683. Along with our tallest is the new google building that has a shape like a sail boat. It was a calm morning along the town lake so it gave us some nice reflections of the buildings along the shoreline in the water of town lake in this aerial capture of the city of Austin. Many of the buildings still had lights on which created this dazzling glow to hep the Austin skyline pop in the sky with clouds that had a violet crown colors as a backdrop. At least for now the downtown shoreline from this area is complete with the latest Austin skyline in view in this sunrise capture. How long this title for Austin's tallest skycraper stays is unknown, but I am sure there will be more competition for the title. The Frost bank tower can barely be seen now which sits behind the Austonian which was one of first skycrapers in the city of Austin. We had a nice pre dawn sunrise where the sky produced some nice colors of violet, pinks, orange and blues along which gave a nice backdrop to the Austin skyline view in this capture. We capture this from the the lamar bridge over Lady Bird lake looking towards the downtown part of the city.

Twilight Austin Skyline from Zilker Park
Twilight Austin Skyline from Zilker Park - While waiting for the super moon to come up I notice that the buildings had a nice light on them from this view point at Zilker park. We had been waiting two years to capture this image with Six and Guadalupe the newest and tallest high rise now in the Austin skyline. Included is also the other two previously tallest buildings the Independent and the Austonian. A lot of new buildings have been added in the last couple of years including the new Google building that has a shape similar to a sail boat. Zilker park is a favorite place to come and watch the lights come on in the Austin skyline at night. Many also come here to exercise, play a sport, etc but the cool factor is having the city skyline so big and right there as a wonderful back drop.2144

Austin Skyline with Blue Super Moon Pano - From Zilker Park another view of the Austin skyline with the blue super moon in a panorama. The term 'blue moon' might evoke images of a moon with an oceanic hue, but in fact, it refers to the second full moon appearing within a single calendar month. Such an event is a rarity, leading to the widely used saying "once in a blue moon." The blue moon appear larger in the sky because it is slightly closer. We thought this was a nice point of view for the Austin skyline from Zilker park in downtown with the blue super moon in the image. This is image includes three of the tallest buildings in downtown Austin, The Sixth and Guadalupe, the Independent and the Austonian along with the new Google building shape like a sail plus all the other high rises. It is a nightly event to come down to the park and watch the sunset as it was full of people all ready to watch for the blue super moon coming up over the city.

Austin Skyline Sunrise Pano 336 - The latest and greatest skyline of downtown Austin from auditorium shores at sunrise taken with our drone with a 60 megapixel camera. This image includes the newest skyscraper the Google building along with the three tallest the Austonian and Independent and the latest the Six and Guadalupe, many just call it 6th and guad on town lake as the sunrise gives these pinks, yellow and violets. For years now the view of Austin has morph from one year to the next as more high rise building are being added ever few years. We keep thinking we are done, but no there always one more that will be taller than all the others so for now it not complete because in a couple of years there will be more I am sure, but till then this is the latest. Austin Texas is one of the hottest spot to live in right now and people are moving here at a fast pace which has caused some serious growing pains, but we will adapt over time. Austin is the home to the University of Texas, along with several other schools and has a booming high tech business. Tesla has now made Austin home for one of it battery factories. The City of Austin has a lot to offer with plenty of parks and musical events along with great places to eat. Many enjoy the hike and bike trail around lady bird lake, or going to Lake Austin or Lake Travis all within a twenty to thirty miles from downtown. You will find people out on their sups or kayaks on town lake when the weather is warm. This is the latest image with Austins new tallest building the 6th and Guadalupe. Aerial Austin Skyline Violet Crown
Aerial Austin Skyline Violet Crown - We came down to capture the latest image of Austin with the recently added Google building along the shoreline of Lady Bird Lake with some autumn colors in the trees. We got that and more with these wonderful colors in the sky. Austin has been call the violet crown city in the past which is this wonderful shades of violet, purple, pinks, and blues that we capture this evening, We think of this time as the magic hour with all the violet and purples and pinks in the sky. Downtown Austin has been a city of cranes for several years so we needed to catch it in between, before the next round of high rise building start showing up. Also the fall colors were still present with the bald cypress trees along the water along with the red oaks showing there autumn colors. We wanted to show all of Austin tallest buildings the Independent, the Austonian with the newest addition of the Google as they are today. Also the image captures the Lamar Bridge, the Pfluger Pedestrian bridge, the alway colorful graffitt railroad bridge, with the rest of the bridges downstream. Austin has a wonderful hike and bike trail that runs around town lake in the downtown area where you can see the skyline from many points because of this you find people on bikes, running, walking along the trail and during the warmer weather you find kayaks, canoe, and sup all along the lake.

We actually went to downtown Austin to capture a different view, but their was an event going on so no parking anywhere so we had to go elsewhere. In any case this is the most complete capture from this location as Austins new tallest building at Sixth and Guadalupe outside is more or less complete. Also include are the other high rise buildings like the new Google, the Independent, and the Austonian. It is always a challenge to capture an Austin skyline because it is constantly changing along town lake. At least from this point of view the skyline is mostly complete for now. Downtown Austin still has many new buildings being built so as they get more complete we will add more images of the Austin skyline. Took the moon shot separate then placed it where the moon was so I could get more details.

We like the Austin skyline pano from Butler Park with the Doug Sahm hill in view where the it just had a hint of color and all the light were on the buildings along the waterfront of Lady Bird lake. You also see a hint of Palmer Auditorian. This is the most complete skyline for Austin along the shoreline of town lake for now it will change in the next year as several new highrises are scheduled to go up in the next couple of years. The Austin constant changing skyline keeps us on our toes. As we have to pick the right time to capture new shots. Of course this is not new as the Austin skyline has been changing for the last ten years. This is just one of many locations to capture a photo of the city of Austin. Texas Capitol Mall Night View
Texas Capitol Mall Night View - We have finally been able to capture a photo of the new Texas Capitol Mall with the State Capitol in it. We had been here a couple of time but they had not removed some construct debris so we have been waiting for almost 6 months since it opened. This image caputures the Texas Capitol plus some of the Austin skyline which makes a nice backdrop for the capital building. They have been working on the mall for years and even after they had completed was not complet, but we finally had a clear shot of the capitol. This had previously been a city street now you can actually walk from MLK to the Texas Capitol on the sidewalks at the new mall. We were happy to still see the Frost top and the Austonian still in this view from the south side of congress. The new mall has sidewalks with lights along and benches to sit and enjoy the view. Also they added several new state office buildings in the area trying to bring all the office into the capitol complex. The Texas Capitol is a landmark for the city of Austin it is one of the most visited locations in the city

Austin Skyline Sunrise - We captured this Austin skyline image before the sun acually broke the horizon on this morning in downtown . The sky painted the sky with some pinks, yellow, purple and blues which was a lovely backdrop on this day for the austin skyline. We have been trying to capture this shot for some time but there was so much going on with the protest and constant building that we waited for break. We will need to come back in a few years as their are plans for two more buildings that will be two hundred feet taller than the tallest building the Independent in Austin now. Austin skyline has been constantly changing over the years so we have tried to catch it as the latest batch of building have been finished. This images captures the congress bridge that leads your eye to the Texas Capitol in downtown Austin. The Texas Capitol is a landmark and favorite tourist location to visit when people come to town. In this aerial image you can see our second tallest building the Austonian and the Frost and many others along the water front. Lately the Lady Bird Lake has been getting more and more crowed as they are constanly building new high rises along the colorado river water front. In any case it is a constantly evolving City of Austin skyline with some of the best sunrises and sunsets.

The zilker christmas tree is actually a moonlight tower that light are strung from but creates a nice 155 foot christmas tree in Zilker park. This has been Austin Christmas tree since 1967. We have been unable to photography this image from a previous location for years now so we added a new lens to our drone to capture this one using our drone. This is such a popular holiday image we decided to go get a current version since so many new buildings have been built in the last several years so here it is. In this image you can see the dark building which is the new unfinished sixth and guad building that probably will not be finished for another year. It will be the tallest for a while in the city. Also the frost bank was lit tonight so it was welcome to see it in the skyline again, along with all the other high rise building in the city. Golden Glow Over Austin Skyline - This pre sunset image captures the Austin skyline down Lady Bird Lake with this afternoon glow with all the latest high rise buildings along the shore line like the tallest high rise the Independent to the second tallest the Austonian. This Austin skyline was taken near the area of the hike and bike trail, along barton creek and Lou Neff Point which captures the Lamar bridge, the pedestrian bridge, First street bridge all the way down to the congress bridge. From downtown Austin along the hike and bike trail we like the fact that you can also see the UT tower in the photo which is a good distance away. It was a lovely golden hour capture with some nice reflections and capital cruise boat and sups capture on the lady bird lake . Austin downtown can be a magical thing if you can capture it just right with that nice golden glow which in this image almost takes you back in time to look like a old post cards. Austin downtown has been changing radically over the last few year with new high rises going up almost yearly. We just added the tallest building in Austin downtown with the Independent and two more are expected to be taller will be going up in the next couple of years. Most of the Austin downtown high rises are going in close to Lady Bird lake which is the hottest spot for the moment. The Austin downtown shoreline is getting pretty crowded so I am not sure how many more will be able to squeeze in. This is just another capture of our images from Texas. Austin Skyline and Texas Capitol Sunrise 2 - A tighter view looking up Congress toward the Texas Capitol with the downtown Austin skyline at sunrise. This was taken from an area referred to as SOCO which stand for South Congress. The soco area is a hip and trendy spot full of restaurants, shops, and night life which just happens to be in view of the Austin downtown along with the Texas capitol. This was taken in the early hours as I waited for the sun to come up rather the pre-dawn as it is still pretty dark but the capitol is nicely lit. There are very few times you can stand in the middle of the road in this area without being hit by a car so we haven't been back here in years. Matter of fact the last time we came here we saw one bicyclist and one scoter driver in two separate incident were hit by cars almost in this same spot of course they were not in the middle of the road like I was but it was worth it. Even in this early morning hour there was plenty of activity going on. Austin Texas is a vibrant active city it is hard to find times where you can photograph some scenes because this city doesn't seem to stop. In this view you can see the capitol, the Frost Tower, the Austonian the second tallest building along with many others. The dividing line for south congress to north congress is Lady Bird Lake Congress bridge. Update 9-28-21 D85_1174

Downtown Austin Skyline Night - Austin skyline after dark with a long exposure catching the cars trail lights as they cross the bridge. The austin skyline has been changing ever few years so we are constanly capturing the latest skylines in the area. You can see the Austonia high rise the second tallest and you can also see the top of the Frost Bank Tower still visable. It seems like it wasn't that long ago when the Frost Bank was the tallest building in downtown not any more as the skyscraper rush is on. Downtown Austin is growing along lady bird lake as this is the place to be now, This is a two to one panorama which is slightly taller than a normal three to one pano.

SOCO View of Texas Capitol Dark - A view looking up Congress toward the Texas Capitol in downtown with the Austin skyline at dawn. Aerial Austin Skyline Panorama - This is our latest Austin skyline aerial showing the city from east to west view in a two to one panorama. Downtown Austin where we captured the Congress bridge and first street bridge that cross Lady Bird Lake into the city, Austin is a fast growing city with at least thirty to forty new buildings being built in this area with 25 new high rise buildings slated to start in the next year or so, Austin has a population of over a million people now and when I go downtown I always see a lot of new thing living here for over forty years now. It is a modern contemporary city with a lot focus around it parks and hike and bike trail that run around town lake or rather Lady Bird Lake. In this image you can see the Independent and the Austonian which are the two tallest buildings till two more are finished they will be approxiamately two hundred feet taller. The city of austin continues to grow it seems like ever couple of month the landscape changes in the downtown area. Let the race begin for the tallest skyscraper begin in the southern USA. Currently two other citys in Texas hold the title but for how long?

Austin Shoreline Violet Crown Pano - Austin Texas shoreline with the violet crown colors at twilight was beautiful this evening. This is the latest capture of the skyline along Lady Bird Lake with the addition of the new Google building along with the Independent and Austonian the two tallest highrise skyscrapers for now. We had a nice northern cool front that help blow out the smoke and finally had a chance to get out and take some images of this section of city along the hike and bike trail. There are still plenty of cranes but for a short while they are not visiable. Austin is the capital of texas and one of the favorite thing for people visiting is to go down along town lake and check out the sunsets and sunrises along the trail. We like that the wind had died down so we got some nice reflection in the water. Many people use lady bird lake to kayak, sup, swim, row and other sports. Austin also has some great music venues and wonderful restaurants to help those winter blues. Also Austin sits at the entrance to the texas hill country for those who want to venture out into the hills.This is a two to one panorama.

Colorful Austin Skyline Panorama Sunrise - Texas Capitol Aerial View - We captured this image before the sun acually broke the horizon on this morning in a two to one panorama. The sky painted the sky with some pinks, yellow, purple and blues which was a lovely backdrop on this day. We have been trying to capture this shot for some time but there was so much going on with the protest and constant building that we waited for break. We will need to come back in a few years as their are plans for two more buildings that will be two hundred feet taller than the tallest building the Independent in Austin now. Austin skyline has been constantly changing so we have tried to catch it as the latest batch of building have been finished. This images captures the congress bridge that leads your eye to the Texas Capitol in downtown Austin. The Texas Capitol is a landmark and favorite tourist location to visit when people come to town. In this aerial image you can see the tallest building the Independent along with the second tallest building the Austonian and the Frost and many others along the water front. Lately the Lady Bird Lake has been getting more and more crowed as they are constanly building new high rises along the colorado river water front. In any case it is a constantly evolving City of Austin skyline with some of the best sunrises and sunsets. dr2427

Stevie Ray Vaughn Austin BW - This is another view of the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue that stands along town lake or Lady Bird Lake with the skyline of Austin in the background. This staue is visited by so many toursit it is sometimes hard not to be able to capture it with people in the photo. However we have tried to recapture this image but the city has allow shrubs to grow up and block the city view you can no longer capture this image.

Skyline at Sunset Austin Aerial Pano - We took this Austin Skyline panorama at sunset using our aerial camera drone to capture a different view of the city. We were happy that the sun was still on the buildings to give them a punch in the scene. This is a full 3 to 1 one panorama. This was taken over Lady Bird Lake with the Austin skyline visible just as the sky back light up these clouds with these great pink and orange colors. You can see down the lake to the Lamar bridge, the pedestrian bridge along with the first street bridge and Congress Ave bridge or the Ann Richards Bridge in this view. You can also see the recently completed architecture like the Independent high rise condo, which for now is the tallest building in the city. There are many new buildings along the water front in just the last couple of years. This area around the town lake has the hike and bike trail that attracts so many downtown. The majority of our aerial phototography are taken with a 42 megapixle full frame professional camera so they can be enlarged without loss of resolution. Austin Skyline 2 - We captured this aerial image of the City of Austin skyline looking straight down Congress Ave as the sun was setting in downtown. In this cityscape you can see the Texas Capitol along with mamy of the city high-rise buildings including the Frost, Austonian, One Congress Plaza, Radisson Hotel, Marriott, Ashton Condos, and One Congress. Also in the photo are a bit of Lady Bird Lake.
Waiting on the Bats
Waiting on the Bats - This is the nightly bat watch that goes on in Austin Texas with people along the congress bridge and crowds of people along the hike and bike trail and people coming in canoes, in boats and on foot to view the bats coming out from under the Congress bridge. Their was music and people selling bat memoribila. We took the image of the anticipation of the bats and on this day they did not come out till well after dark and it was too hard to capture them from this location, but we thought the view was still good and the atmostphere was festive. From April through October the bat are here in the larger numbers some stick around all year but not in the numbers that have the wow affect. There are something like 1.5 million bats under the congress bridge over lady bird lake. So you can image when the bats due come up it is a show as long as it not to dark.

Austin Aerial Skyline at Twilight - A little different view of the Austin Skyline with our aerial drone over downtown Austin from IH 35. We take our aerial photos with a full frame camera so we can get the best resolution. We live west of the Austin and when we come downtown we usually try and come on off time however that is getting harder and harder to find. Yet the Austin skyline is constantly changing so we try and come down and take some shot in between new skyscrapers. Even though this is winter time here it likely that we will see some new skeliton buildings show up any day now, so we decided to go ahead and capture a shot now and hopefully another one this spring. It is delicate balance catching images with out the half finished skyscrapers that we have seen for the last several years. The lastest high rise building is the google building which kind of looks like a sail boat at the other end of the lake, but there are several on the way which will be taller than any other high rise buildings in the city, but we believe they have not broken ground yet. The shoreline along lady bird lake or town lake as many still call it, is getting more and more crowed. So today this is latest view of this urban landscape along the river from the east side of town which still had some color from the earlier sunset left in the sky right at twilight! So we think it was worth the trip downtown to capture this image at this time of day. 6835 Thanks for looking.

Austin Skyline Golden Glow - We capture this image right at sunset when the city was picking up these golden colors which were reflecting off the buildings. Austin just recently completed a series of high rise skyscrapers so we were trying to beat the next round that will be coming up in the view in the next year or so. Downtown Austin skyline has been changing on a regular basis as the building along lady bird lake shoreline has been constantly in flux for the past ten years or so. We like the nice golden glow that was cast on the buildings along town lake shoreline another great day in the city. Austin is a vibrant city with several universities and a booming tech business so it has attracted the attention of many who have recently moved creating a need for more codos, apartments and many want to live right downtown. Also other feature of the city is the live music available and lot of wonderful places to eat or have a drink. You have Dirty Sixth which it is now called and then there is west sixth and there is SOCO short for south congress where you can find places to shop, eat, and music. Also Austin is home to SXSW which goes on for several weeks with films festivals, conferences, and music festivals. Also there are many other things like the ACL festival ever fall which brings in big name entertainers to the city. Also Austin has many parks with the biggest being Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool right in the downtown area along with the hike and bike trails around town lake which are quite popular year round for walking, running or biking.
