Autumn Colors at Pedernales Falls Pano - On a crisp November day I came across this wonderful bald cypress sitting right in the pedernales river basin with it fall colors on displays of red to rusty red from it feathery leaves. We love the bald cypress in fall as they change colors from yellow to orange to red and then rusty red right before they fall off. These texas hill country cypress trees can with-stand the floods that move boulders through the river yet they still seem somehow to be able to stay upright. Even in this image you can see a giant slab of limestone at the base of the tree that probably was placed there by a flooding event. We like the stillness of the water in this image which gave a nice reflection of the trees and rocks in the water. Pedernales Falls State park is a large area for hiking and camping and in the summer time swiming. Pedernales Falls State Park is a 5,212-acre state park situated along the banks of the Pedernales River in Blanco County, Texas in the United States. The nearest town is Johnson City Texas. The pedernales river begins in Kimble country and flows 105 miles through the pedernales falls state park and into lake travis. The park is not an easy park to access it reguires good knees and a bit of billy goat and a lot of hiking to access the rocky river bed. This is a two to one pano. Thanks for checking out our images.
