Pedernales Falls

Pedernales Falls - We have had an excess of rain this spring and June was no exception so a trip to the pedernales river was on our bucket list. It has been overcast and raining almost daily it seems for the entire month. As soon as I heard the forcast call for clearing of the skies I got down to the Pedernales Fall State Park right before sunset and hiked over bouders, and slabs of granite the size of my house and finally found a spot to capture some images of the water as it flowed over through this shoot and the cloud in the sky went wild for a brief moment. I used a long exposure to capture that smooth flowing waters as it cascaded down over the rocks. The park is located in the Texas hill country near Johnson City TX. The Pedernales Falls State Park is is a great place to hike and fish and swim when the water is not flowing so fast. Right now the water is running to fast to swim, but I am sure this will not last long as there are two things you can be sure of in Texas is flooding and then drought. Summer is just begining so we will probaly have a slow down of the rain in the coming weeks.
