When you think about Texas, you will most likely think of San Antonio. We all know about the River Walk, the Alamo, and Tower of the Americas, along with the rich Hispanic culture that San Antonio calls its own. San Antonio, with a population of about 1.5 million (2020) is the 2nd largest in Texas, and a metro population of nearly 2.6 million (2020), still enjoys a small-town feel despite the hustle and bustle. San Antonio boast several major tourist attractions with people coming to the city to enjoy the River Walk, the Alamo Bowl, the Tower of Americas and to visit the historic Alamo along with the Mission National Historic Park. The Alamo is the most visited attraction in all of Texas, ‘Remember the Alamo!’. More than 2.5 million people visit the Alamo a year.

The San Antonio skyline is best known for the Tower of the Americas. The Tower of Americas is a 750' tall and can be seen from most anywhere in the city. It’s located in HemisFair Park and was opened in 1968. The tower is the tallest building in San Antonio's skyline and 2nd highest observation tower in the United States. The Marriott River center comes in as the 2nd tallest in San Antonio at 546 feet, and the Weston Center building is 3rd at 444 feet. The Frost Tower is the newest addition to the San Antonio skyline at 386' and was finished in 2020. It's unique design stands out in the downtown area.

San Antonio has the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico, El Mercado’s shopping district is the largest Mexican market in the US. It’s a three-block outdoor plaza filled with a combination of 100 restaurants, shops, handicrafts and fresh produce stands and is a blast to visit. The shopping district also hosts many Hispanic festivals.

North of the downtown area is the Pearl District. This is a place where locals and tourists can enjoy green spaces to stroll and take in the cool evening air along the upper part of the San Antonio river walk. The area is filled with fine dining, a brewery, and even an amphitheater. During the holiday season the area is lit with colorful lights.
