Fort Worth Texas in the 19th century was associated with trading post and cattle drives along the Chisholm trail and had a bit of reputation of being sort of the wild west in the past. Yes you can still get a taste of the Fort Worth of the past at the Old Town Stockyards on north main or as many call it old town. Here you can enjoy a rodeo, or check out the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame honors pioneers or enjoy a cattle drive right through the heart of the Stockyards twice a day. The Stockyards have become known as a place to shop and dine with a western twist where you can pick up a pair of handmade Leddy Boots, or a saddle or just take in the sites and enjoy a meal, belly up to a bar for a cold one but it is only a small part of Fort Worth today. Today, Fort Worth Texas it's a modern city, with international art institutions like the Kimbell Art Museum or the Modern Art Museum in the art district or spend a day at Bass Hall for a concert or play and many other events in downtown. Not far from Fort Worth is Arlington Texas where you could take in a game at the ATT Dallas Cowboys stadium which is located about a 20 minute drive.
Fort Worth Stock Yards After Dark - We got up early on a cold morning to capture the Fort Worth Stock Yard before sunrise and we were surprised to find all the tree with lights on. It is Christmas time so we are assuming that it is their holiday lighting or maybe it new it been a while since we have been here. In any case it the best time to come to photography the Stock Yards with the least amount of cars and people. The Fort Worth Stockyards now celebrates Fort Worth's long tradition as a part of the cattle industry with a cattle drive down the street during the day as they would of done back in the day.
Stockyards Station after Dark - They finally have the sign back up at the Stockyards Station and it better than ever. All the holdiay light create this festive vibe. We came here early in the morning before the sun came up so we could capture images with out cars and lots of people and it turned out perfect. The Fort Worth Stockyards station is the area where you can find shops and plenty of places to enjoy some great Texas food. This area is a tourist attractions and many come to shop and visit all the restaurants and bars in the area at night for some live music and great food.
Leddy Boots Neon Sign North Main - The iconic Leddy Boots neon sign at night at the Fort Worth Stockyards at street level. Leddy boots has two location but the most famous and most photographed is at the Fort Worth Stockyards on North Main which is also a National HIstoric District located in the old town district.
Fort Worth Longhorn Cattle Drive - We capture another image of the cowboys on horseback driving the longhorn heard down the street at the Stockyard in Fort WorthTexas on our last trip here. The Fort Worth Stockyards celebrates Fort Worth's long tradition as a part of the cattle industry with a cattle drive down the street as they would of done back in the day. The longhorn cattle drive are done twice a day at the Stockyards.
Stockyard Cattle Drive - The Fort Worth Stockyard cattle drive as cowboy used to do at the turn of the 19th century. Today it is volunteers that drive the longhorns through the street at the stockyard twice a day as tourist watch the daily event. Now the area is mostly an entertainment district based on the western theme of the cattle drives of the 19 century.
Fort Worth Water Gardens at Twilight - We capture this image of Fort Worth Water Gardens right around twilight when their was still some violet crown colors in the sky. This is one of City of Fort Worth landmarks as these water garden were built in 1974 for an urban oasis type of experience in the city. The main attraction of the Water Gardens is the active pool, which has water cascading 38 feet (11 m) down terraces and steps into a small pool at the bottom. The active pool experience was built for people to be able to walk down the terraced steps to be surrounded by and experience the power, sounds and motion of water crashing around them.
Fort Worth Waterfalls Gardens - These urban waterfalls at the Fort Worth Water Gardens create this unique experience of water flowing over man made steps in this city park in this capture.
Fort Worth Modern Museum - The Fort Worth Modern Museum of art with it wonderful grounds reflecting pool in this wonderful modern architecture during the day. This museum is an acclaimed contemporary complex with a reflecting pool housing more than 3,000 post-WWII artworks.
Fort Worth Modern Museum at Night - The Fort Worth Modern Museum of art with this wonderful angle of the grounds with the reflecting pool lined with golden light in the trees and colorful architecture along the reflecting pool in this modern architecture beauty.
Fort Worth Bass Hall - The angel at the top of the Bass Hall were carved out of limestone by Marton Varo is this beautiful creation as the angels wing spread out on the building. Two 48-foot tall angels adorn the East 4th Street Grand Facade of the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall. Bass Hall has music, opera, plays and more, these sculptures were installed in 1998 with wings flaring toward the heavens and golden horns trumpeting over the street below.
Fort Worth Skyline Along Trinity - Captured this photo of downtown Fort Worth skyline in late afternoon along the Trinity river. From here you can see the high rise buildings like the Burrnet Tower, Wells Fargo, The Tower, Tarrant County Courthouse, Tarrant County College, along with many others buildings along the shore.
Aerial Tarrant County Courthouse Fort Worth Skyline - The violet crown developes over the Tarrant County Courthouse with the Fort Worth skyline from the North Main street bridge at twilight! We capture a view into downtown Fort Worth from the Main Street Bridge with the Tarrant County Courthouse at dusk as these wonderful violet crown colors developed in the sky.
Fort Worth Skyline at Dawn Pano - Early morning pano in downtown Fort Worth as the sky was lighting up the cityscape with soft pink behind the city at dawn. You can see the reflections in the Trinity River below of the trees along the bank and the seventh street bridge that connects the university area to downtown. Fort Worth is the fifth largest city in Texas and the second largest in the DFW Metro area.
Fort Worth Skyline at Twilight Pano - Another panorama aerial capture of the Fort Worth skyline at twilight. Again these great purple led lights on the seventh street bridge really make it come alive at night. The seventh street bridge connects the University area with the downtown across the Trinity River.
Colorful Sunrise Over Fort Worth Skyline Pano - We capture this on our last trip to Fort Worth taken along the Trinity river as it snakes into the downtown area of Fort Worth Texas. Dallas Cowboys ATT Stadium and Unity Arch Close Up - The Dallas Cowboys football stadium is about a 20 minute drive from Fort Worth in Arlington TX. In this capture of the ATT Stadium we included the colorful Unity Arch pulled in tighter for a close up at night. The AT&T Stadium is a retractable-roof stadium in Arlington, Texas, United States. It serves as the home of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, and was completed on May 27, 2009.
