Bluebonnet Farmhouse at Dusk 2

Bluebonnet Farmhouse at Dusk 2 - Well the bluebonnet house in Marble Falls had a bumper crop of bluebonnets this year. We capture this angle view at sunset with some colors over the house from the side view. We decided since you never when this could end up with a gas station on it we better get several angles so we took lot of views. This is just one of the many times we came her as you never know if it will be good again. We thought this was never going to happen ever again for several years now so better get the photo now! We had gone by for the last three or four years and the bluebonnets did not look good. The previous owner did not care for the all the people it attracted because many trespassed so he mowed them down and used other methods to surpress their growth but this year they looked like they looked years ago. I guess the new owner is going to allow this to continue to happen, as they looked great. People come from all over to take photos of this old abandon farmhouse that is now mostly used for his cattle. Possibly since the bluebonnets came out early this year they were able to beat the grasses and poppies for some of the best field in years. The story I have heard about this old stone farmhouse was that it was built in 1853 by Logan Vandeveer using stone which was unusual at that time per the deed in the area that it was registered under and was sold later on and is what has allowed it to be still standing today. The roof and other parts are starting to deteriate and fall in but it doesn't deter us from photographing it it adds to the charm of this wonderful old stone farmhouse in the Texas Hill Country.
