Fishing Blue Heron

Fishing Blue Heron - A blue heron fishes on a old submerged dock along the coast in the early morning in Rockport Texas. The blue heron is focus on fishing along the bay in Rockport TX as the heron is attempting to get breakfast. Blue Heron can be found in may places icluding: fresh and salt marshes, swamps, estuaries, seashores, tidal flats, meadows, island shores, river and creek banks, and human-made habitats, e.g., flooded agricultural fields and pastures, ditches, canals, agricultural and aquaculture ponds, and reservoirs. The heron is a hardy bird and can live just about anywhere and can live for twety years or more. We see them most often around water, near the rivers, beaches, seashores, marshes, and gulf of mexico. Herons eat a wide variety of food from insects to fish to small mammals and other birds. Great blue herons are larger than the blue heron around three to four and half feet tall and have the yellow beaks and dispite their size they only weigh around five pounds because of their hollow bones.
