Great Trees of Oak Alley B W

Great Trees of Oak Alley B W - This landscape of large live oak tree with their masses root system just as the sun comes up at the Oak Alley Plantation was an incredible site in black and white. You can see the canopy of limbs that engulf the walkway along with the mansion in the background on this morning as the morning sun just begins to highlight the grounds and the large tree trunk roots system to get a feel for their massive size of these 300 year old trees. The Oak Alley trees or only part of the draw to this heritage site which are part of this historic plantation where at one one time slaves were kept from a dark time in our history. This is plantation grown sugar cane along with other crops and had many slaves that lived and died here in the past tending to the grounds and people of the house. They have kept the slaves quarters in tack so you can see the different lives they lived. Louisiana is located in the southern united states and has many of these old mansions along the mississippi river. Photo © copyright by Bee Creek Photography - Tod Grubbs / Cynthia Hestand.
