St. Simon Lighthouse Twilight

St. Simon Lighthouse Twilight - This is the St. Simon lighthouse at twillight right before the dark of night sets in. We noticed the lighthouse lamps were shooting out light beams over the Alantic ocean and decided to photography this part of the lighthouse after at twillight. Lighthouse images are alway a great find so we capture every way we could. The St. Simon lighthouse is a landmark in the area and was built in 1872 after the first lighthouse was destroy by confederates to prevent the federal government from using the light house during the civil war. This is still an active lighthouse guiding ship through the waters of the Alantic ocean and one of five that still exist in Georgia. You can visit the St. Simon Lighthouse Museum and see the long history of the area and even climb the 128 steps to the view area of the lighthouse. This area is considered to be a travel destination to this area of Georgia known as the Golden Isles barrier island. Name Golden Isles Barrier islands because of the salt marsh that surround the area with golden color every year after the cold snap begins.
